Premiering in 1995 as a replacement for the small and sporty Daytona, the Avenger was a sleek 2-door coupe. Unfortunately for some, that's where that story ends, the Avenger was launched with pretty standard equipment and nothing special under the hood. By 2000 the Avenger has become synonymous with another Chrysler product, the Sebring.
The Avenger was a great small sporty looking coupe but was still not the edgy powerful car people thought it would be. After 2000 Dodge gave the Avenger a lengthy break and paused production until 2008. In 2008 the Avenger was reintroduced as a 4-door sedan with plenty of trim options and technology features. It was eventually discontinued in 2014 as Dodge started to shift focus to their sports cars and trucks.

The BCI Group 86 battery is the most common battery seen in the Dodge Avenger. It's critical that you use the right size battery and you will want to confirm before purchasing by checking under the hood, looking up the battery information in your owner's manual or with our fitment finder before making a purchase.
Car batteries will generally last around 3-5 years with little maintenance. If you don't tighten the hold-downs fully and the battery is banging around in the engine compartment, it will not last nearly as long. If you care for your battery by performing a routine cleaning of the terminals to remove corrosion and drive long enough trips so the battery charges properly, it could last you well over 5 years.
